Function:
Auto Changeover relays are
designed to changeover the source of supply to load where more
than one source is available. These are required to changeover
load from mains to DG, different phases of mains and mains to
UPS systems etc.
For
different applications, we have specific models. There are
with load limiter, without load
limiter, and many additional functions.
PLCR-P-1-20 is designed for
Portable Generators. It transfers the load from
generator to Mains on resumption of Mains. It
is two pole changeover with loading capacity
is 10 Amps
max.

PLCR-P-2-20 is similar to PLCR-O-20 with addition of facility to
stop the portable set on resumption of
mains
PLCR-DS-25/60 are auto changeover
with load limiter. In a multistoried building
or in a shopping complex where one generator supplies
load to many apartments/ shops, it is
essential to limit load drawn by individual users during
generator operation. If the load exceeds the
set level, it trips the supply. After 30 Sec.
It re-starts and checks. If the load is within the limit, it
remains study. In case of still over load, it
again trips. This gives the user freedom of using
the assigned load any where in his apartment.
During Mains On there is no load limiting.
PLCR-DS-25 is for loads up to 25
Amps and PLCR-DS-60 is for
loads up to 60 Amps.
PLCR-DT-15/25/45 are auto changeover for three
phase load. Similar to PLCR- DS- series, it limits
load drawn during DG operation. During mains ON no limit is
applied. 15/25/45 indicates nominal capacity during
mains. These are Three pole devices and Neutral is
not isolated.
Series
PLCR-DTN. Are with four pole
changeover which allows for Neutral to be
isolated.
PLCR-LT-25/60
are for single phase loads with availability of 3
phase systems. Electricity supply at all
important installations like HOSPITALS,
PUBLIC PLACES, VIP CHAMBERS, AIRPORTS, RAILWAY
STATIONS, OFFICES, Computer
installations etc is to be kept ON with minimum disturbances.
It is desired to at least keep the lighting load
(essential Load) ON even during failure of one or
two phases. In case of failure of one phase, it shifts
the load to other phase or UPS automatically.
The system has built in MCB for incoming supply.
During MAINS ON load is distributed on the phases as per
the original
wiring.
